The outline of our film - changes

Since planning our original film, we have made a few changes.
When she moves into the hall way, instead of the camera being positioned through the phone cable, we just get a shot of the phone hanging off its hook, with a continuous beeping sound.
From the shot of her stepping out the front door, we then see only her feet walking and then steadily getting faster into a run. From there we see her running away down a long pathway and she goes out of sight. We get a few more shots of her running in different places. She then gets to a gate way and a close shot is shown of her opening the lock. She then starts running again until she gets to a bushy area where she creeps through the overgrown shrubs and the camera follows her as though from someone else's view.

this is an extract from "Mean Streets" which we have reflected in our work. It uses a steadycam, continually focused on Harvey Keitel in a close up, long duration shot as he moves through the room. We have used this in our film as the character is moving out the room, we have the camera continually focused on her face as she moves into the hall.

Sounds

For the beginning, when she wakes up:
Garage band
-Contemplative synth 04.

Randoms that we could add in:
Garage band
-Pulsing sweep
-Techno base 1

Maybe for running scene: (get rid of the man speaking - edit so it has a bigger drop)

We have some odd scenes, such as a tap dripping and a phone off its hook and we did this on purpose to add to the creepy, eerie feel. The tap dripping will get louder and louder, being the main sound and it will carry on throughout the time she is in the kitchen. The phone off its hook will be in the background quietly and then become louder as we get the shot of the phone. It will then carry on in the background quieter again while she's in that room.

The outline of our film

[quiet, background music comes in, quite creepy sounding.] We get a close up shot of a girls eyes, the camera moves round to show she is laid down. She sits and then stands and looks at her surroundings. (she has heavy black makeup that is smudged, her hair messed up and clothes ripped.) There are bodies all over the floor, sprawled out and unconscious, they make no noise. She is very confused, she doesn't know where she is or who any of these people are. She gets up and we get a shot from her point of view as though looking through her eyes at the bodies on the floor, and her stepping over them. She looks around trying to figure out where she is and also where her shoes are. She moves in to the hall way and the camera is then positioned through a phone cable that is hanging loose, with a no connection sound. We then get a high angle shot (positioned from the stairs) of her wandering around, in to the kitchen. She sees empty pizza boxes, broken bottles and lots of uncleared mess, the tap is also dripping which gives an eerie sound. The surrounding is dark, with no colour anywhere, making it look quite creepy and adding to the thriller/horror feel. She finds her shoes in the hall way but keeps looking around as though something is watching her, or she thinks someone is. She goes to the door and we get a shot of her hand on the door handle. The next shot is of her opening the door from the other side, so the camera sees only her and not the outside surroundings. (The setting changes without the viewers knowing, from Jessies house, to a long, empty pathway) [slow music comes in that then builds up faster and more dramatic as her movements become faster] We then see her looking behind her, walking at a fast pace, with a scared expression. We only get the shot of her running, so we do not see what or if there's anything behind her. The camera switches between this and from her point of view, looking through her eyes in front of her. [We hear her heavy breathing along with the music in the background when the camera switches to her point of view] Her walk then turns into a jog, and then into running, all the time looking round. She then stops [music quietens] and curls herself into a ball, rocking on the floor and sobbing into her arms. The camera is zoomed in on her, and keeps zooming until we get to her eyes, [previous music stops, and dramatic sound starts to come in] she looks up suddenly to the side of her with a frightened look in her eyes (the camera is still fixated on her face) and is about to scream when everything goes black. [There is a sound as though everything is spinning and getting faster, out of control then everything stops suddenly.] The end.
